    Investing in our cause is our top priority which is why we invest as much of our donations as possible into housing. These investments can include buying land for development, buying apartment buildings, setting up scholarships for students college housing needs, down payments assistant, renovating apartments for rent, paying property tax

    Investing in our cause is our top priority which is why we invest as much of our donations as possible into housing. These investments can include buying land for development, buying apartment buildings, setting up scholarships for students college housing needs, down payments assistant, renovating apartments for rent, paying property taxes and mortgages on assets to help keep rents down, investing with partners to be able to more efficiently build housing to keep costs down, and much more. As it stands we currently put 90% of our collected donation dollars into this. We are hoping to grow this percentage in the future.

     Our business expenses account for the other 10% of where donation dollars go. Although we do get breaks from some companies, running a non-profit is not free. We have a fair share of operating costs  which include: Website hosting, Marketing to raise donation dollars, credit card processing fees, bank fees, donation event costs, professi

     Our business expenses account for the other 10% of where donation dollars go. Although we do get breaks from some companies, running a non-profit is not free. We have a fair share of operating costs  which include: Website hosting, Marketing to raise donation dollars, credit card processing fees, bank fees, donation event costs, professional costs (Legal & Accounting), and more. As of now none of our officers take home a salary or any form of income from First Step Housing.

    At First Step Housing we offer attainable apartments to those not ready to buy a home. Each month we collect rent, those rental dollars go towards paying property expenses (Maintenance, Taxes, Mortgages, Property/Asset Management), into a property savings account for emergency events, and the remainder is reinvested into FSH to be able to help more families and individuals.
